From the novice to the expert, having your own wheel or not, all are welcome to participate. BeeLighted will provide the first ounce of wool fiber to get you spinning plus the shop has many types of fibers and drop spindles for purchase in case of immediate fiber addiction!
Nancy Ellison, rural Zumbrota resident and regional fiber expert will be leading the Open Spinning and generously providing the assortment of wheels for use and to buy.

*March Madness on the 8th, HoneyMoon Honey will be here to talk about their naturally made products while providing hand and foot massages. Plus you are all invited to a Dove Chocolate Party, samples and tasty treats will be here to tempt you as if the yummy fibers aren't enough! :)
Anything Goes!Thursday Nights (that are not Open Spinning) from 4- 7
Knit, Crochet, Spin, Needlefelt, Needlepunch, Rug Hook or whatever else you're working on. Come as you are and hang out with other crafty people. :) Also a good time to get 'er done night. DIg out the project that's been hanging around for awhile (years maybe) dust it off and make some progress. We'll be here anyway, you might as well have some company. If you are only one I've ever met with NO unfinished projects....come anyway and we'll get you started on one! :)

Koolaid Dye a Rainbow!Saturday, March 3,10 - 12

Mix it up with assorted fibers including: locks, roving, yarns, firestar (sparkle nylon) and a selection of powdered drink mixes. See how easy it is to mix master your own colors with safe and easily found items.
Needle Felt Saturday, March 10, 10 - 12
Class: $35.00 (includes kit you get to take home)
In this class youll learn Needle Felting techniques, painting with wool. We'll take a wool base and embellish using a variety of needles and fibers. Other ideas are make a wrist cuff or pouch to hold jewelry, accessories, cell phone or other trinkets. If there is time we will try a little 3d felting too. Learn a new skill and have fun!
OPTIONAL: If you would rather embellish a sweater or knit item, bring it along.
Silk Scarf DyeingSaturday March 17, 10 - 12
Class: $35 (all supplies included)
Using fiber reactive dyes (the permanent yet not dangerous stuff) students will have a large selection of colors to choose from and drip, drop, paint to combine a color selection of their choosing, the colors will flow & mix together making a one of a kind work of art! The scarves will be heat set so the finished products final results won't be known until the unwrapping! These silks will not fade or be damaged by water spotting.
This scarf can also be used in an upcoming "Big Bad Scarf" class to be held in April, on display at BeeLighted.

PunchNeedle

Class: $20.00 + kit of choice
Instructor: Della MacDiarmid
In this class you'll learn how to and what Punchneedle is. Using Monks cloth, floss and a special punch tool that is included in your kit (you will be able to pick your pattern from those available here at BeeLighted) and see how easy it is to get started punching!
Punchneedle pieces can be made into jewelry, bookmarks, ornaments, wall hangings and more!

Toe up socks 2 at a Time2 Wednesdays, April 18 & 25 (evening class times TBD)
Class: $45 + yarn & needles
Instructor: Elizabeth Remfert
Make 2 at the same time, no more orphan socks in your stash! Students must to know how to do basic stockinette. Session 1: casting on two socks on one 40" circular needle, and shaping the toe. Homework would be to knit the foot during the week to be ready to do the heel. Session 2: knitting a short-row heel, cast-off options presented .
Bring to the first session
100 g sock weight yarn (superfine) and
1 40+" circular needle, size 0 (2mm) or 1(2.5mm) (depends on how tightly they knit)
or
100 g sport weight (fine) yarn and
1 40+" circular needle, size 2 (2.75mm)
